For some of my clients the use of Emotional Freedom Technique or Tapping will be most helpful to break down emotional blockages and clear the way to move forward. EFT can be part of your coaching journey, or it can be a process on its own.
What is EFT or Tapping?
Emotional Freedom Technique is a beautiful technique to calm down emotions. And it is not temporary. With EFT you can permanently let go of emotional feelings and emotions around experiences and memories. Anger, sadness, anxiety, fear etc. melt away and make room for energy, creativity and action. Once the emotions have been cleared, you will be able to look at your situation more calmly and start working on what you want to change in your life. But maybe, once you have cleared all those exhausting emotions, you don’t feel the need to change anything. Whatever it is, EFT can help you clear emotions that are in the way of living your life the way you want it to be.

EFT or Tapping versus therapy and coaching
EFT is different from the therapy or coaching you may know but it has elements of both. Like therapy, it helps you let go of baggage from the past. However, it is not like talking therapy as you don’t need to go over events and experiences from the past in great detail. We don’t focus on the story, we focus on the emotions.
Like coaching, it helps you move forward by clearing blockages that you have unconsciously built around you.
Tapping can quickly shift emotional states, negative beliefs about yourself, old memories and traumas and create new neural pathways in the brain.
How does it work?
EFT is a combination of Eastern and Western approaches as it combines meridian work like acupuncture/acupressure from Eastern modalities with Western psychology, mainly focusing on mindfulness practices. You tap on your own body at specific meridian points while tuning into difficult emotions, negative experiences and limiting beliefs. The tapping on the meridian points balances and harmonises the energy flow in your body. If you combine this with focusing on difficult emotions, they will quickly clear and change into empowering positive emotions.
Tapping can be done individually and can be easily learned. However, deeper effect can be reached when working with a practitioner. As the practitioner, I do not touch you, but I tap along on the meridian points on my own body. Therefore, an EFT session can easily be done through an online video platform.
