EFT or Tapping — Release the Tension and Overwhelm Your Mind Can’t Let Go Of

For professional women who are exhausted, emotionally drained, and carrying more than they should

You’re capable, you’re resourceful, and you’ve tried to manage it yourself. But some feelings — the tension that won’t quiet down, the tension you carry home from work, the old patterns that keep showing up — don’t respond to logic or willpower alone.

That’s where EFT or Tapping comes in.

What is EFT or Tapping?

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), sometimes called tapping, is a technique that combines gentle physical tapping on acupressure points with focused attention on difficult emotions, memories or beliefs.

The result? Emotional tension that has felt stuck for years can shift — often faster than you would expect.

EFT can help you release:

  • Stress and anxiety that won’t switch off
  • Emotional reactions that feel out of proportion
  • Long-standing patterns rooted in past experiences
  • Self-doubt, fear and limiting beliefs
  • The physical tension that stress leaves in the body

Unlike talking therapy, you don’t need to relive experiences in detail. We work with the emotion itself, not the story around it. This makes EFT both gentler and often faster than traditional approaches.

How does EFT or Tapping Work?

EFT draws on both Eastern and Western healing approaches. You tap gently on specific points on your face, hands and upper body — the same points used in acupuncture — while focusing on a difficult feeling or belief.

This tapping signals safety to your nervous system, interrupting the stress response and allowing the emotional charge to reduce. Over time, new neural pathways form, replacing old patterns with calmer, more resourceful responses.

You stay fully in control throughout. Nothing is done to you — we work together, at your pace.

As your practitioner, I tap alongside you on my own body — which means EFT works just as effectively online as it does in person.

How is EFT Different from Therapy or Coaching

EFT sits in its own space — it has elements of both, but works differently from either.

Like therapy, it helps you process and release emotional weight from the past. But unlike talking therapy, you don’t need to go over events in detail. We focus on the feeling, not the story.

Like coaching, it helps you move forward by clearing what’s been holding you back. But rather than working purely at the level of thought and action, EFT works at the level of the nervous system — which is often where the real block lives.

Many clients find that EFT shifts things that years of talking hadn’t been able to touch.

Could EFT Be Right for You?

EFT is a powerful tool for burnout prevention. It helps you release tension before it builds to breaking point.

EFT may be a good fit if:

  • Your mind races and you struggle to switch off, even when you want to
  • You carry stress in your body — tension, fatigue, disrupted sleep
  • You react to situations more intensely than you’d like to
  • You’ve tried to ‘think your way through’ a problem and it hasn’t worked
  • There are past experiences or beliefs that you sense are still holding you back

EFT can be used as a standalone approach, or alongside coaching and hypnotherapy as part of a wider programme.

What Clients Say

“I’m finding EFT extremely helpful in dealing with really difficult chronic pain and with all the mental fallout this brings too. Wendela is both professional and nurturing at the same time, and I feel I can be completely open with her and I have full faith in her guidance.”

“I hadn’t tried EFT before, so was a bit wary and curious at first as to what it would be like. Wendela made me feel at ease from the first session, and it didn’t take long to learn how to tap. I now can’t imagine not having EFT and not having Wendela as my therapist and coach. As well as the sessions, Wendela has taught me how to use tapping in my daily life, and this really helps too. I am eternally grateful, and I can’t recommend Wendela highly enough.”
